Ceramic Media Information and Specs
Manufactured to our own formulated specifications, containing only the finest raw materials available. Low density media is used within the metal industry for surface preparation and improvement on most metals such as aluminum, brass, copper, and zinc as well as plastic. Low density media will reduce distortion, impingement and burr roll-over while producing excellent finishes prior to plating and/or painting. Fine finishes as well as aggressive cutting can be achieved.
Ideal for burnishing or accelerated chemical deburring. An extremely heavy, high-density media that can replace steel media for burnishing. Increased weight decreases time cycles in acid process deburring. It weighs approximately 130 pounds per cubic foot and is cream in color
An ultra high density formula containing top quality abrasives, giving light metal removal in conventional machines and medium cut in high energy machines. Composition B1 is very long lasting in both applications. Bulk weight is 135 pounds per cubic foot.
A medium cutting ceramic media, which contins fused aluminum oxide. This relatively long lasting media gives good color and a fine finish with proper compounding. Bulk weight is 95 pounds per cubic foot.
A highly versatile composition having good cutting action and long wear life. Available in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. B+ will work in a wide variety of deburring, de-flashing and radiusing applications. It will also do an excellent burnishing job. Can be used in all types of equipment. Bulk weight is 85 to 90 pounds per cubic foot.
A fast cutting ceramic media designed to reduce cycle times, giving burr removal and corner radiusing while producing a fine matte finish. Bulk weight is 95 pounds per cubic foot.
A fast cutting composition fitting between B+ and the ultra-fast cutting compositions. It provides a higher rate of metal removal than B+, with only a slightly higher media loss. C+ is recommended for obtaining short time cycles on medium and heavy burrs and will leave parts with a clean semi-matte finish. C+ gives excellent results in vibratory finishing equipment. Bulk weight is 85 to 90 pounds cubic foot.
An aggressive cutting action. Good for general to heavy deburring, producing short time cycles. Bulk weight is 95 to 100 pounds per cubic foot.
the most aggressive cutting media available. It gives great amounts of cutdown in short timed cycles and still retains good wear characteristics. D+ leaves parts with a matte finish, but with proper compounding, the parts will be clean and free of oxide impregnation. Recommended for all heavy deburring operations. Bulk weight is 95 to 100 pounds per cubic foot.
High Density Compositions
A medium cut, long life composition well suited for high energy equipment. Will develop smooth and bright finishes. A bauxite based formula containing no fused aluminum oxide. Bulk weight is 110 to 115 pounds per cubic foot.
A general purpose high density composition having good wear life. F is a very durable and fracture resistant composition able to stand up to presures generated in large vibrators and high energy equipment. The greater weight per cubic foot of the high density composition allows faster radius and deburring of parts that standard compositions. Bulk weight is 110 to 115 pounds per cubic foot.
The fastest cutting of the high density compositions. Combines short time cycle with low micro finishes. Bulk weight is 110 to 115 pounds per cubic foot.
Silicon Carbide Compositions
A silicon Carbide based composition containing no aluminum oxide. Combines a medium cutting action with long life. Recommended for parts having no oxide impregnation, especially where parts are welded, brazed or soldered. Produces a clean finish on all parts. Bulk weight is 90 to 95 pounds per cubic foot.
A fast cutting composition that is silicon carbide based. Contains no aluminum oxide. Recommended for parts having no oxide impregnation, especially where parts are welded, brazed or soldered
